F&C Top Projects: PAR Systems at Seven Lakes

PAR Systems at Seven Lakes was selected as one of Finance & Commerce’s Top Projects of 2025, recognizing Minnesota’s top design and construction projects for the year.

An independent panel of judges selected 50 honorees for the annual program. Projects are judged on their degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management, and sustainability efforts. PAR Systems is a global leader in engineered automation solutions, designing and building custom manufacturing systems for the world’s most complex and mission-critical industries.  For over 65 years, PAR Systems has engineered ingenious solutions that advance how the world powers, protects, heals, and explores. They help to manufacture life-saving medical devices and support next-generation nuclear power plants delivering clean energy.

Based in Shoreview, the new 140,000 SF headquarters and state-of-the-art production facility was designed adjacent to the company’s existing facilities, giving them space to expand capabilities, and room to boost capacity by 40%.

The facility is designed with many features to support the unique requirements of PAR Systems’ processes, from collaborative office space to cutting edge cleanroom and laboratories, designed to meet the evolving needs of their aerospace, nuclear and medical device clients. It defines flexibility with space, structure and equipment for an extreme variety of projects of all sizes. The design creates a fully collaborative engineering environment under one roof by integrating advanced production bays, cleanrooms, and research labs alongside flexible office and collaboration spaces.

Large windows overlooking production floor and interior circulation help employees go from workstation to manufacturing equipment in minutes. High-volume areas, including 42-foot clear heights and crane-supported bays, support diverse production needs. Daylight and views are emphasized both in office and production spaces.

PAR Systems’ new facility is part of Seven Lakes a three-building development that replaces the former Deluxe corporate campus. This project required design coordination and cooperation among numerous stakeholders, including property owner, the developer, PAR as well as other tenants on the property. The team navigated the overall development milestones and worked through schedule challenges to obtain occupancy to meet PAR Systems’ timeline.
