Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014

RC Hospital and Clinics celebrated the groundbreaking of their new $24 million replacement hospital campus in Olivia, Minnesota.

The new 62,000 sq. ft. facility will feature 16 inpatient rooms, imaging, physical therapy, outpatient clinic and specialty clinic. The hospital is planning to open in the fall of 2015.

Pope Architects’ healthcare team has been working with RC Hospital and Clinics since late 2012 on site planning and design of the new hospital. The team includes Yanik Companies – Owner’s Representative, McGough Construction – General Contractor, and Pope Architects – Architect and Interior Designer.

The RC Hospital and Clinics board successfully achieved financing through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program, and is also supported in part by Mankato-based AgStar Financial Services, reported by both KLGR and the Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal.

Associate President of AgStar, Bob Madsen shared with KLGR on the importance of expanding and renovating hospitals in rural areas.

“AgStar is proud to partner with Renville County Hospital and Clinics, USDA and our other partners to be involved in this project. Health care options and patient safety significantly grow when a community has access to primary care physicians and up to date technology.  Expanding and renovating hospitals and other facilities in rural areas helps solidify their vitality,” said Madsen.
