Hearts & Hammers 2026: Good Neighbor Collaboration
Tuesday, September 1st, 2026
Last week, Pope Design Group joined our friends and colleagues at ERA Structural Engineering to support Hearts & Hammers, a local non-profit, to help a Roseville, MN neighbor restore the exterior of their home.
In just 8 hours, a group of 30+ volunteers from our two companies were able to clean gutters, repair window trim, sills, and a screened porch, patch the concrete sidewalk, paint the house and detached shed, craft and install custom window wells, add a new awning for the resident’s back steps, refresh the garden and yard, trim trees, spread mulch, and plant beautiful new gardens.
While the list of completed projects is impressive, what matters most is the kindness and dignity we were able to share with our neighbor and homeowner John through this day of service.
The mission of Hearts & Hammers –Twin Cities is to provide exterior home improvement assistance for Senior Citizens, Disabled Individuals, and Veterans of the United States Armed Forces or their Surviving Spouse so that they may continue living independently.
Hearts & Hammers assists local, low-income homeowners whose exterior of their homes is deteriorating and may even be in danger of losing their homes. Hearts & Hammers restores and preserves the home so that they can safely stay in their affordable home. They do this by managing the project start-to-finish which includes scoping the project, gathering supplies and volunteers to complete the work.
Each year, Pope employees look forward to participating to support Hearts & Hammers’ mission and strengthen our local community through an annual event. It was great to partner with our long-standing partner, ERA, in making a difference for a neighbor.
