Two exciting senior housing developments in Minnesota broke ground this week.

Officials from CentraCare Health in Long Prairie, MN were joined by local representatives, Pope Architects, Donlar Construction and Congressman Colin Peterson to celebrate the start of construction of a new $5 million assisted living facility, reported by the Long Prairie Leader.

The new facility will feature 30 units of Assisted Living and 10 units for Memory Care residents.

Meanwhile, in Lake City, MN, a new $13.4 million senior community called the Bluffs of Lake City broke ground. The new community is connected to an existing care center owned by Mayo Clinic Health System, reported the Red Wing Republican Eagle.

The new Bluffs of Lake City features 67 units, combining independent living, assisted living and memory care.

Reported by the Red Wing Republican, “Adding independent and assisted living along with memory care apartments will make the Mayo Clinic Health System in Lake City campus a complete continuum of care setting,” said Susan Farr, vice president of business development for Ebenezer Management Services.

Pope Architects designed the facility and it will be built by Welsh Construction. Wildamere Properties is the developer and Ebenezer Management will manage the new community.

The Senior Housing News, In the Pipeline shared some of the community’s amenities, including remote monitoring technology, outdoor patios, porches, gardens and walking paths, chapel, bistro, club room, community room, movie theater, salon and spa.

Both facilities should be open by Fall 2015.
