Rochester Math and Science Academy is a K-8 public charter school and Rochester STEM Academy is a 9-12 public charter school. The two engaged Pope Design Group to expand and renovate an existing 1970s vintage church facility to meet the growing needs of the two schools.
Special attention was paid throughout the process to understand the impact that the Math and Science Curriculum, and the cultural expressions of the East African student population have on the design, and to develop a solution that responds to those needs while providing a welcoming and supportive environment for learners of every ethnicity and cultural background.
