Providence Academy is an independent, nonprofit, co-educational Roman Catholic school serving 900 students from Pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Our partnership began over 20 years ago when Pope Design Group supported Providence Academy with a new gymnasium, new classroom space, specialty art classroom, state-of-the-art media center and additional locker rooms. We worked closely with Providence Academy and their historical consultant to confirm coherence with the original design vision and architectural details.
More recently, to support Providence’s growing student population, Pope Design Group worked with the school on a 40,000 sq. ft. classroom and storm shelter expansion. The addition includes classroom spaces including two chemistry labs, a physics lab, biology labs and associated prep rooms. A new team lecture-style room provides ample space for the school’s athletic teams. The art room now opens up to a new outdoor terrace that provides opportunity for plein air painting instruction as well as space for private events.
The addition blends seamlessly with the brick Georgian Colonial building, including matching interior details.
The team is also working together on a new concessions building and plaza to enhance the school’s athletics fields.
