PRISM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1970 by people who were concerned about local hungry and homeless families in their community.
Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Minneapolis (JFCS) and its founding sponsor, Stillman Family Foundation embarked on a campaign for their “Next Century” Home. Through an interactive process, the team transformed an existing 1970s building into a welcoming home for volunteers, staff, and people in need.
Joining JFCS in this new space is PRISM, which serves more than 6,000 people annually through its food shelf, housing programs, children’s programs, and thrift shop. This includes providing 800,000 pounds of food each year.
Being on the same site as JFCS offers the organizations opportunities to work together to enhance solutions toward food security and financial stability for the community.
