The City of Woodbury M Health Fairview Sports Center (formerly Bielenberg Sports Center) expansion includes a new 90,000 sq. ft. field house to replace the outdated domed field house.
Pope Design Group worked closely with City officials and the Parks and Recreation Department, to design the addition which includes a two-story, 20,000 sq. ft. lobby linking the field house to the existing ice rink. The lobby creates a new main entrance, food service and ample seating and gathering areas.
The expansion includes three hockey rinks — two inside and one outside, and spaces for indoor baseball, soccer, lacrosse, football and golf. An outdoor refrigerated ice rink space features a skating rink, patio and large fire pit.
The design utilizes a geothermal heating and cooling system as well as solar panels for heating water.
