Divine Mercy Catholic Church & School is part of the deep history of Catholic faith in Faribault, Minnesota. The church was formed in 2002, combining the long-standing parishes of Sacred Heart – St. Lawrence and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. In 2006, the Church relocated to a new building on a 40 acre south of town, while the Divine Mercy Catholic School continued to operate out of a building near downtown Faribault.
Facing the challenge of $6 million in deferred maintenance and physical plant needs, Divine Mercy kicked off the next phase of their master plan — relocating the school by expanding the church campus with a new Education Center for students in Pre-K-5, as well as common spaces to share with the church, and a new administrative center.
The project includes classrooms, dining commons, kitchen, specialty classrooms for art, music, and science, and a high-school size gymnasium. The project is designed to eventually expand to serve middle school learners as well.
