Windom Area Hospital breaks ground

Last Monday Windom Area Hospital broke ground to celebrate the start of their new expansion project.
The new expansion will include two new operating rooms with prep, recovery and support areas. It will also feature a 12-room outreach clinic that visiting physicians and clinicians can use to support the community.
“The expansion is adding enough room so that three visiting physicians can come in anytime they want and not be so cramped with the other visiting specialists, and so there is enough privacy for the registration area,” said Emily Masters, Windom Area Hospital Director of Human Resources and Marketing, to Prairie Business.
In addition, the expansion will create a new main lobby and registration area. Major site work will redirect patients and visitors to a more visible and welcoming entry point. The project is expected to be complete by fall 2015.
