Volunteers of America welcomes first residents to Homestead at Anoka campus

Thursday, December 6th, 2012

Volunteers of America hosted a ceremony to bless the facility and welcome the first residents to The Homestead at Anoka campus.

VOA acknowledged the work of those on the development team and welcomed its first residents.  The front entrance to Homestead was “blessed” to honor all of the residents, family and friends who will enter its doors.

“We as an organization can build a building, do the ‘bricks and sticks’ part of the process,” said Wayne Olson, VOA Senior Vice President. “But creating a community requires a different commitment and focus. This blessing ceremony acknowledges that while our staff provides amenities and purpose — the residents will make this a home.”
