Summit Orthopedics earns The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval; opens Eagan

Thursday, March 23rd, 2017

Earlier this month, Summit Orthopedics Vadnais Heights Surgery Center became just one of two ambulatory surgery centers in the U.S. to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Advanced Certification for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.

Vadnais Heights opened in 2014 and since that time the facility and staff has completed more than 1,800 total hip and total knee replacements. Summit Orthopedics’ Eagan location opened just this month, and Summit Orthopedics anticipates it will perform 800 replacements in 2017 between both locations.

Both facilities offer hospitality-focused overnight care suites for patients recovering from surgery. This concept was first introduced in Minnesota at Vadnais Heights, and is also an integral part of the new Eagan facility. The care suites offer personalized services, including catered meals from local restaurants, one-on-one education and physical therapy, and hotel-level amenities like Wi-Fi, lounge seating, spa-like bathrooms and concierge services.

In addition, the facilities feature Secure Tracks, a post-surgery accelerated walking system exclusive to Summit Orthopedics that gets patients up and walking within hours of surgery.

Pope Architects’ healthcare team is honored to be Summit Orthopedics design partner. Our team has provided medical planning, architectural and interior design services for projects in Woodbury, Eagan, Blaine, Vadnais Heights, and St. Paul, as well as the new innovative Bielenberg Clinic and Wellness Center.
