Due to a successful fundraising effort, RC Hospital & Clinics’ replacement hospital will be more than the community and organization ever anticipated.

RC Hospital & Clinics new 62,000 sq. ft. hospital is under construction and expected to open to patients in the fall.

The West Central Tribune reported on the exciting additions to the project, thanks to more than $1.3 million raised in donations. The community donations have helped add several items on the hospital’s wish list, including a new MRI suite, second surgical suite, and telemedicine communication equipment.

“The show of support by the community has been tremendous,” said Nathan Blad, CEO of the county-owned RC Hospital and Clinics. “We would not be able to afford MRI technology to put in (the facility) without the support.”

Dr. Kathryn Kelly is the chairwoman of the RC Hospital Foundation’s capital campaign.”People see the need, and they support it,” Kelly said. From the onset, the capital campaign has focused on informing people about the needs and importance of providing quality rural health care, and people have responded to that, she said.
