A recent feature in CFMA Building Products showcases how the AEC (architecture, engineering and construction) industry is leading a movement of change by incorporating design strategies that promote physical and mental wellbeing within built environments.
Innovative Design Strategies: Promoting Physical & Mental Wellness by Nicholas Maletta and Cal Beyer outlines some of the strategies design firm’s are incorporating.
Pope Architects Principal Erica Larson contributed to the feature. “Our clients are seeking out holistic and innovative measures to incorporate key concepts within their physical environments,” she shared with the authors.
She noted that employee wellness is one of the primary drivers and project goals for the firm’s and openly discussing employee physical and mental wellbeing in the workplace has become more acceptable.
