Mental Illness Awareness Week
Wednesday, October 2nd, 2013
Mental Illness Awareness Week is October 6-12, 2013. It was originally established by the U.S. Congress in 1990 to recognize the National Alliance on Mental Illness’ efforts to raise awareness.
According to NAMI, mental illness affects 1 in 4 or nearly 60 million Americans every year.
We at Pope Architects recognize the importance of raising awareness and have partnered with several mental health service providers on facility design projects. In the last 3 years, our design team has worked with PrairieCare, one of the fastest-growing Twin Cities’ providers of comprehensive and integrated psychiatric services, to design and open facilities in Maple Grove, Edina, Woodbury and Chaska, Minnesota.
We encourage you to take time to be informed during the Mental Illness Awareness Week. Please visit NAMI’s website to learn more.
