Marking the beginning and end of construction

Members of our housing and healthcare teams joined clients and contractors in celebrating groundbreaking and grand opening events this week.

WellSpire’s The Summit of Bettendorf

WellSpire, The Summit of Bettendorf’s parent organization, was formed earlier this year via a partnership of Genesis Health and WesleyLife. The organization hosted a celebratory groundbreaking in Bettendorf, Iowa for its first new senior living community.

The community is designed to transform the aging experience — supporting healthier and more active lifestyles and includes levels of living ranging from Independent and Assisted Living to Memory Support, Short-Term Rehabilitation, and Long-Term Care.

“When we develop projects, we always spend a great deal of time focused on what the inside will be like; the difference with The Summit is that we are just as interested in creating outdoor spaces that our residents and their families will enjoy. Thousands of hours are being spent during the design process to create a community that is unique to the Quad Cities,” said Darren Schlapkohl, Director of Development for WesleyLife.

Aris Clinic Woodwinds

Simultaneously, Aris Clinic celebrated the grand opening of its new adolescent mental health clinic in Woodbury, Minnesota. The new clinic will treat children and adolescents in 7th-12th grades, allowing Aris’ original clinic to focus on K-6th graders.

The clinic provides outpatient therapy and specializes in an Intensive Outpatient Program serving 40 patients and allowing them to attend school while receiving treatment.

The new clinic is designed on a unique 21 acres of wetland, tucked away in a patch of forest at the end of a winding driveway. There are walking trails and space to have an outdoor classroom and a small garden.

“It’s such a healing piece of property,” said Dr. Shalene Kennedy, Medical team for Aris Clinic Woodwinds.
