Kraus-Anderson and Rihm Kenworth honored with 2018 NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence

Pope Architects is honored to have been involved with two projects selected for the 35th Annual NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence program.
The NAIOP Minnesota Awards of Excellence celebrates commercial real estate in Minnesota by selecting exceptional developments in diverse industries. Judges toured each nomination and evaluated them on project development, function and design, architectural integrity, market feasibility, sustainable attributes and unique project challenges. The awards ceremony was held on September 27, 2018.
Kraus-Anderson Headquarters
[ DOWNTOWN & NORTH LOOP OFFICE ]
Kraus-Anderson has been a part of Minneapolis’ downtown fabric for over 120 years. The new 5-story headquarters is situated within a unified, mixed use redevelopment of the KA Block that was built concurrently. This new headquarters underscores and elevates the company’s longtime commitment to downtown. It is a reflection of the KA brand, its history and its future. The building consolidates the cultures of three distinct offices, once spread throughout the Twin Cities metro, and creates a modern workplace for 300 employees that blends high-tech efficiencies with legacy features.

Rihm Kenworth Headquarters
[ INDUSTRIAL BUILD-TO-SUIT ]
Rihm Kenworth, founded in 1932, is a multi-generation family-owned business, and one of the oldest and largest Kenworth dealers in the country. Under Kari Rihm’s leadership since 2010, the company has grown exponentially with 300 employees and 22 locations. After evaluating their former headquarters on University Avenue, the site was sold to develop a new South St. Paul headquarters with sales/service, and simultaneously, a Coon Rapids sales/service and body shop. The state-of-the-art headquarters on Concord Street north of I-494 provides easy access, expanded leasing and sales (with indoor showroom), retail parts store, customer amenities, modern offices, and the opportunity to align facility design with company brand and culture.
