Grand Opening Celebration: Bielenberg Sports Center
Thursday, September 18th, 2014
The City of Woodbury’s Bielenberg Sports Center Expansion will celebrate its grand opening with a Community Open House on Saturday, September 20 from 4-8pm. The afternoon is open for the public and will include self-guided tours, carnival games, a special clinic and autograph session with the Minnesota United soccer team, and free open ice skating.
The Pioneer Press featured the expanded facility, which includes the largest soccer field in the state of Minnesota. “This facility is by far the best thing that has happened to Woodbury,” said Angela Miles, who was taking a power walk with her two children in the cavernous space last week. “It is the best in the Twin Cities area.”
Bob Klatt, the City’s Park and Recreation Director told the Pioneer Press how versatile the new field house is. The facility can accommodate soccer, football, lacrosse, baseball and softball events.
The expansion was designed by Pope Architects and built by Kraus-Anderson Construction Company.
Be sure to check out the Community Open House to get a first hand view of the expanded Bielenberg Sports Center.
