The Cottages at Hearthstone team was proud to be on hand at Environments for Aging Design Showcase awards ceremony to receive the top honor, an Award of Merit.

Jill Schroeder of Pope Architects joined WesleyLife and Weitz Company to accept the award at the EFA Annual Conference in Baltimore, MD. The Cottages at Hearthstone, a WesleyLife community is a new senior living campus in Pella, Iowa.

The Cottages was recognized as one of two Award of Merit built projects. The project was honored for its innovation, community collaboration, aesthetics and by improving resident wellness and outcomes.

Designed as five homes with 16 suites each, interconnected with senior apartments and community amenities, The Cottages create a unique neighborhood set along a beautiful rural hillside. The design was influenced by the Dutch heritage and farming lifestyle of the area. Design details, colorful finishes, an open kitchen concept and inviting hearth create a meaningful living environment for seniors.
