This summer, the Edina Housing Foundation sought affordable age-restricted housing development proposals for a 1.56 acre parcel at 4040 W 70th Street in Edina. They announced last week that the Lupe Development Partners and Ecumen joint venture team was selected to develop a 118 unit affordable senior housing community.
The Edina Housing Foundation (EHF) is a non-profit corporation that provides financial assistance to Edina home buyers in an effort to attract new families to the Edina community.
The proposed Lupe and Ecumen development, located on a Foundation-owned parcel at 4040 W 70th St., combines affordable housing with high-end amenities, community-based programming, public art and sustainable design. Pope Architects is the architect of the new development.

“This project will be ideal for individuals who want to remain in Edina after retirement,” said Steve Minn, Lupe Development Partners Vice President. “This area is rich in services, restaurants, shopping, transit and other essentials to keep senior residents connected to their community. It’s a perfect match with the amenities we plan to bring to the development.”
The project is in the financing and City approval process. If approved, construction is anticipated to begin Spring 2022.
