4040 West 70th Street Apartments increase affordable senior living options in Edina, MN

The development team is a partnership of Ecumen, a nonprofit provider, developer and operator of senior living, and developer Lupe Development Partners.

Planning began in 2020, as the City of Edina identified a major shortage of housing for age-restricted uses. Lupe and Ecumen were selected by the Edina Housing Foundation to serve as the developer of the site located west of France Avenue at 4040 W. 70th Street near Southdale Center and the Galleria.

The site’s proximity to numerous transit lines and amenities make it an ideal location for residents who need more support. The project was recently awarded a grant from the Metropolitan Council for it’s effectiveness at providing residents the opportunity to bike or walk to many destinations or allowing them to live closer to public transit.
