Construction work starts on new WellSpire Fieldstone of DeWitt Community

Wellspire Fieldstone of DeWitt, a new assisted living community that offers memory support, short-term rehabilitation and long-term care services, started site work this week.

Once complete in 2022, Fieldstone will replace the existing Westwing Place, a 50 year-old care center located at Genesis Medical Center in DeWitt, Iowa. Graham Construction of Des Moines is the general contractor, and Pope Architects is the architect and interior designer.

The new community is designed with an emphasis on vitality and connectivity. The name was developed by local residents to highlight the area’s topography, agricultural history, and values of community pride, strength and heritage.

WellSpire was formed in 2019 as a partnership between Johnston, Iowa-based WesleyLife and Davenport, Iowa-based Genesis Health System. The new organization offers comprehensive health and wellness services to seniors in Iowa and Illinois.
