Wednesday, June 11th, 2014

Ground breaking on 71 France Housing A Mix-use development project took place Wednesday.

Housing A is the first of three apartment complexes on the site and consists of 109 units. The site will eventually have 246 apartment units as well a new 47,000 sq. ft. Byerly’s and 20,000 sq. ft. in retail. Construction will co-exist with the current Byerly’s store to minimize disruption. Byerly’s will be moving into their new store at a later date.

Minneapolis/St. Paul Buisness Journal reports that rent for the units will begin at $1,200. The apartments will feature a pool, underground parking and roof-top terraces.

In a press release reported on by Market Watch, the 71 France project is a joint venture between  IRET Properties  and developer Schafer Richardson. Pope Architects is responsible for architectural design of the Byerly’s store and the architectural and interior design of the apartments. Learn more about the project here.
