New Fargo Elim Care Center to replace community destroyed by fire
Monday, June 14th, 2021
We join Cassia and the Fargo Elim community in celebrating the groundbreaking of the new Fargo Elim Care Center which will replace the facility that was destroyed by fire in January 2020. The new community will provide much-needed housing and services to the Fargo-Moorhead area.
Thankfully all 111 residents and staff were safely evacuated and temporarily relocated in nearby facilities as Cassia went through the insurance, master planning and redevelopment process. The damaged care center has been demolished and the new facility will welcome its first residents in 2022.
The groundbreaking event kicks off the rebuilding of the center, which will maintain a valuable connection to the existing transitional care, therapy and assisted living community, while amplifying shared amenities with a vibrant new town center.
The new building includes three skilled nursing households with 20-24 residents each. The households include activity/living rooms that open up to enclosed outdoor walking paths, gardens and courtyards. The new town center features an atrium lobby, administrative space, two dining rooms, multi-purpose area as well as an efficient commercial kitchen and back of house zone.
