Architectural Construction Administrator

Pope Design Group is seeking a passionate, ambitious and thoughtful Architectural Construction Administrator that seeks to make a positive and impactful difference in our community through the spaces we create.

This position will provide an opportunity to collaborate with integrated design teams on a variety of project types that include multi-family and affordable housing, senior living, commercial, community and industrial projects of various sizes and complexity.

Responsibilities

  • Be the prime liaison, during Construction Administration phase, between Pope Design Group and the General Contractor and client/owner.
  • Participate in QA/QC review process.
  • Attend in-person and virtual construction meetings.
  • Perform construction site visits and prepare field reports.
  • Review and interpret construction documents.
  • Make recommendations and consult client/owner on all issues related to project construction.
  • Develop and issue sketches related to field conditions and issues; coordinate the work with consultants and the project team.
  • Process, review and respond to RFIs, Submittals, and client communication as required.
  • Resolve design problems which arise during construction.
  • Assist in the evaluation of value engineering solutions.
  • Review bid qualifications.
  • Coordinate ASIs to the contract documents.
  • Monitor, review and process closeout submittals.
  • Review Change Orders and Payment Applications.
  • Travel approximately 10 – 25% (within the US).

Client Interface

  • The project team all work together on developing a positive relationship of trust with our clients and fostering a commitment to external and internal client service.
  • You may regularly communicate with clients to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentation.
  • May work with Project Manager and client to confirm objectives and formulate options; may prepare and conduct design and technical presentations for team and/or clients and may participate in marketing efforts.
  • May assist with project pursuit and client management.

Skills, Experience & Competencies

  • Architecture license preferred, but not required. Minimum of 10+ years of experience.
  • Experience in all phases of architecture, with an emphasis on the Construction Administration phase.
  • In-depth knowledge of building materials, detailing, construction techniques and building codes.
  • Provide attention to detail, good organizational skills, excellent follow-through skills, can juggle multiple tasks and multiple priorities as well as consistently meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in the use of Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bluebeam experience is not necessary but is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Procore and other construction management software is preferred.

Salary & Benefits Compensation based on candidate’s work experience, education and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of an offer.
