The Haven at Peace Village celebrates construction start

The Norwood Young America, Minnesota community celebrated the groundbreaking of The Haven at Peace Village senior housing project.

The Haven is an expansion Peace Village Catered Senior Living and will add 25 Assisted Living Units and 12 Memory Care Units to the existing campus.

Peace Villa Housing Manager Brenda Schmitz shared with the SunPatriot on just how exciting it is to reach this milestone in the process. “Just having the notice to proceed was such a good feeling because there’s so many people working very hard on this for a long time.”

The city of Norwood Young America was very supportive of the project and worked collaboratively with Peace Village from the beginning. The $6.9 million project is funded with USDA Rural Development Loans acquired through the city which will be paid back with proceeds from The Haven.

Pope Architects is the architect and Donlar Construction is the builder for The Haven. Construction is expected to be completed by the Spring 2016.
