Pope Architects believes in building solid relationships and we are proud to welcome two new staff to help us grow this mission. Mark Spencer joins Pope as Business Development Manager and Christine Soma, AIA, joins our growing Housing team. Both bring valuable experience and a passion for people and design.

Mark Spencer joins as Business Development Manager and will focus on continuing to build strong relationships with clients.

He has been in the business development field for over six years and enjoys building relationships with clients. Spencer joins us from Intereum, a top-ranked certified Herman Miller dealer serving office, education and healthcare environments. He has already worked with several of Pope’s clients and is excited to transition from the interiors space to the architectural realm.

“I already know that Pope Architects has a commitment to excellence,” said Spencer. “I want to help everyone see that if you work with Pope, you’re going to have a great experience and in the end, a great space.”

Christine Soma is an architect and project manager and brings valuable experience to our housing team, focusing on design for senior living environments.

“I like to really listen to my clients, as obvious as that sounds,” Soma said. “Being able to do architecture that really makes a difference in a person’s life is what I enjoy. I partner with clients to do just that.”

Soma joins Pope Architects from Horty Elving. She has experience in assisted living, skilled care, transitional care and continuing care retirement communities. Soma is actively involved in many professional organizations including Society for the Advancement of Gerontological Environments (SAGE), where she serves on the National Steering Committee.
