Volunteers of America engaged Pope Design Group to design The Homestead at Anoka, a new continuum of care campus to replace the existing 100-bed Anoka Care Center.

Pope developed a master plan of the site to include skilled nursing, congregate housing, transitional care and memory care, as well as future independent living.

Phase 1 includes 221 units of skilled nursing and assisted living, along with a town center featuring dining, bistro café, community room, wellness room, library, club room, theater, chapel, beauty shop and guest room. Phase 2 completed in 2016 added independent living and assisted/memory care units to the campus as well as additional community spaces.

Essential Decisions, Inc. acted as development consultant on the project.
