PrairieCare expanding to Brooklyn Park

PrairieCare is moving ahead with a new Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Care hospital in Brooklyn Park, MN. Pope Architects is providing design and planning services for the new PrairieCare facility.

PrairieCare helps children and adolescents suffering from depression, anxiety disorder, bipolar disorder and other mental illnesses.

The new hospital will have 50 inpatient beds for children and adolescents and is designed to keep the patient population safe and secure. The layout, design and finishes help patients and families feel at ease.

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Business Journal reported PrairieCare’s plans. The new two-story 66,600 sq. ft. facility will be located in the new Astra Village, a 150 acre business park.

A February 4, 2014 Star Tribune article updates progress on PrairieCare’s Brooklyn Park hospital project. The new hospital is currently under city review.  The City’s Senior Planner said the hope is to start construction this spring with completion by Fall 2015.
