Mercy Specialty Center places final steel beam

Tuesday, May 14th, 2013

On Monday, May 13 Mercy Hospital leaders and staff celebrated the final beam being secured into place at the new Mercy Specialty Center, Coon Rapids, MN.

Through out the week, staff were encouraged to leave their mark on the final steel beam by signing their names. Everyone then gathered for a special “Topping Off” ceremony at noon, complete with cheers and celebration.

This celebration marks a milestone in the construction stages of the Mercy MOB – Specialty Center as completion is set for late Fall of 2013. When all completed, the 120,000 sq. ft. Medical Office Building will be connected to the Mercy Hospital by a 600 ft skyway that is directly adjacent to the existing campus.

Pope Architects is teamed with Allina Health, Frauenshuh and Kraus – Anderson on the new MOB for Mercy Hospital.
