Does that taxi door look familiar? Maybe because you saw it on last night’s premiere episode of HGTV’s new “West End Salvage”.
The second episode of the new hit reality show highlighted Pope Architects’ interior designer, Jill Schroeder working alongside West End’s Don Short to come up with some nostalgic pieces for the memory care facility. Don and his team came up with several items throughout the episode including re-purposed bowling pins, organ pipes and yes, the taxi door.
Pope Architects’ design team incorporates West End Salvage’s materials in many of our senior living facility projects.
“The salvaged elements help to create engaging, lively spaces for the senior residents, while giving ‘new life’ to the unique and vintage features,” said Jill Schroeder, C.I.D., lead interior designer for Pope Architects’ housing practice.
Items featured on “West End Salvage” were incorporated into the facility Esprit of Whispering Ridge in Omaha, NE. The new memory care and assisted living facility opened at the beginning of the year.
