Johanna Shores Phase 2 Construction Update

Tuesday, February 5th, 2013

There has been some exciting construction demolition happening on the Johanna Shores campus in Arden Hills, Minnesota.

Presbyterian Homes & Services’ Johanna Shores campus is the home of its first senior residence, built in 1955.  Phase 1 of the redevelopment, which opened in October 2012, consists of independent living, town center, and half of the assisted living units for the campus. Once the residents moved out of the existing assisted senior building and into the new facility, the team went to work on demolishing the old building to make way for the construction of Phase 2.

The second phase consists of the remainder of the assisted living units and a rooftop patio for memory care residents.

Pope Architects and Weis Builders worked closely with Presbyterian Homes to carefully phase construction of the redevelopment.

The demolition was closely watched by its former residents and it was an exciting time for everyone. Not only was it incredibly interesting to see, but it opened up great views to Lake Johanna. The adjacent photo shows the demolition view from the 4th floor of the Phase 1 building.

Completion of Phase 2 is scheduled for Fall 2013.
