New BHS Red Wing Community named after St. Crispin

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

Benedictine Health System officially named its new senior living facility in Red Wing, Minnesota in a celebration this week.

Reported by the Red Wing Republican Eagle, St. Crispin Living Community is named after Saint Crispin, the patron saint of shoemakers, tanners and saddlers.

BHS approved the name because of the role shoemaking and leather tanning has played in the Red Wing community history. Red Wing Shoe, the tannery and Riedell are mainstays in the local economy.

The new facility will start construction in 2013 and will be adjacent to Mayo Clinic Health System campus in Red Wing.  Yanik Companies is the Developer and Construction Manager and Pope Architects is the Architect and Interior Designer for the project.
