F&C Top Projects: Saint Therese of Corcoran
Wednesday, May 21st, 2025
Saint Therese of Corcoran was selected as one of Finance & Commerce’s Top Projects of 2024, recognizing Minnesota’s top design and construction projects for the year.
An independent panel of judges selected 52 honorees for the annual program. Projects are judged on their degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management, and sustainability efforts. Judges noted the construction industry continued to experience challenges in 2024, from ongoing labor shortages to supply chain disruptions and economic uncertainty requiring flexibility and commitment to get projects successfully completed.

Saint Therese has provided quality care for seniors for over 50 years. To improve resident safety, dignity and quality care, as well as to create a positive working environment for care providers, Saint Therese embarked on a process to develop a new campus in the northwest Twin Cities’ suburb of Corcoran.
Planned in partnership with the City of Corcoran, Saint Therese of Corcoran is the first development in what will become the City of Corcoran’s Town Center. Saint Therese purchased 13 acres adjacent to the Corcoran City Hall for the new senior living campus. The community allows local residents to age in place and near their families with options for independent and assisted living apartments, and memory care services, all on one campus.
This walkable community includes an atrium and wellness corridor with a wellness center featuring a warm saltwater pool, salon, massage, gym with physical therapy, a variety of dining experiences, library, woodworking shop, golf simulator/theatre, outdoor amphitheater, a chapel with stained glass windows designed by a local artist, and an outdoor amphitheater for the whole community to enjoy.
Saint Therese of Corcoran worked closely with the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis to plan and fundraise for this project. This support provided connection to many donors who contributed to the financing of this project, and they are recognized with an extensive donor wall. The beautiful full height stained-glass window in the chapel, designed and constructed by Plymouth artist Wayne Norton, was essential in the organization’s fundraising efforts. The design team worked closely with the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis to design the chapel and stained-glass window.
