Interior Designer – Workplace

Pope Design Group is seeking a passionate, ambitious and thoughtful Interior Designer, that wants to make a positive and impactful difference in our community through the spaces we create.

This position will provide an opportunity to collaborate with integrated design teams on a mixture of project types, with a focus on workplace and corporate design projects of various sizes and complexities. Team members can react positively to a variety of design priorities, styles, and project delivery methods.

Responsibilities

  • Collect client space requirements and develop plan layouts for projects with project team. An aptitude for programming and fit planning is needed.
  • Develop design concepts, color/finish materials and furniture selections for projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Work with project team on development and documentation of design solutions.
  • Coordination and specification of interior furniture.
  • Assist with preparing design presentation materials & renderings.
  • Participate in development of construction documents using Revit.
  • May attend client/project interviews.
  • Support senior designers and at times manage the interior design portion of a project, preparing design and construction documents with a clear understanding of the needs of the client and of the project scope, schedule, budget and project deliverables.
  • Stay current with the latest design trends, architectural/design products, and materials.

Client Interface

  • The project team all work together on developing a positive relationship of trust with our clients and fostering commitment to external and internal client service.
  • Regularly communicate with clients to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews, delivery of final presentations, updates on project progress.
  • Work with Project Managers to confirm objectives and formulate options with the client; prepare and conduct design and technical presentations for team and/or clients and participate in marketing efforts.

Skills, Experience & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience. NCIDQ certificate holder and CID a plus.
  • While you may work on a variety of project types, our need is for an interior designer with experience with workplace and commercial design project types. Additional experience with healthcare or education projects is a plus.
  • A working knowledge of Revit, Bluebeam, and other design software, with an emphasis on 3D presentation is required.
  • Has a good knowledge of applying interior design principles, practices, and concepts.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changes in the work requests or environment.
  • Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed with some guidance.
  • Proven organization and time management skills and is detail oriented with ability to multi-task.

The salary range for this position is $64,000 to $80,000 annually. Salary may be impacted by candidate’s years of experience, specific market sector experience, licensure and/or potential involvement in business development.
