Mount Carmel Bluffs Dedication Ceremony

Recently our housing team community joined the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Dubuque, Iowa, at a building dedication ceremony, marking the completion of the Mount Carmel Bluffs redevelopment. Mount Carmel is a shared ministry of the Sisters of Charity, BVM and Presbyterian Homes & Services.

Overlooking the Mississippi River, Mount Carmel has been the spiritual home of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary since 1984. Over the last 5 years, the campus has been repositioned to allow the BVM Sisters to relocate to appropriate care settings, and add the full continuum of care to open the campus to the broader community.

Pope’s team is humbled to have served as the design partner of Senior Housing Partners in transforming and enhancing the existing campus into a full continuum care senior living community while preserving its beauty— the “heart” the original St. Joseph Motherhouse, the breathtaking views of the Mississippi River Bluff, and the rich history of the spiritual home.
