Wadaag Commons: Family-Oriented & Affordable Housing

Wadaag Commons is a new six-story, 39-unit family-oriented and affordable housing complex being co-developed by Noor Companies and Redesign, Inc.

In Somali, ‘Wadaag’ means to share, and that is at the heart of this unique housing project. Wadaag Commons will especially cater to East African families, and it will be located near the intersection of Snelling Ave and E 22nd St in the Seward Neighborhood of Minneapolis.

“I lived in affordable housing, and it’s really important as a developer, for developers to reflect the communities affordable housing is built for,” said Nawal Noor, Noor Companies. “Affordable housing has … made it possible for communities of color, immigrants to come to Minnesota and feel welcome.”
