Ultra Machining Company (UMC) Celebrates New Innovation Center
Thursday, June 16th, 2022
Ultra Machining Company (UMC) celebrated the completion of their new production facility on Wednesday, June 16 with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
As a leader in precision manufacturing for over 50 years, UMC’s new Innovation Center expands their Monticello, MN campus with a 58,000 sq. ft. addition and link that utilizes similar design elements of the existing building to create a unified campus.
To showcase UMC’s state-of-the-art precision manufacturing, the design creates an atypical industrial environment with many unique features, including a wrap-around mezzanine that supports customer and educational tours, allowing visitors to have a great vantage point of UMC’s technology at work.
One of the highlights for staff is the new walking path that wraps around the entire campus, which promotes employees stepping away and getting outdoors during the workday.
Pope worked closely with the UMC team and Larson Building to overcome the various challenges presented during design and construction, much of them focused on connecting to the existing building and on-site logistics.
Join UMC as they celebrate with an open house on Wednesday, June 22, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at UMC. There will be guided tours, onside interviews, behind-the-scenes looks at precision machining technology & automation, and a Q&A session. No RSVP required.
