Monday, April 12th, 2021
Healthcare and housing providers are faced daily with the challenge of preparing for emergency situations like natural disasters, pandemics, civil unrest, and person-developed airborne attacks. FGI released a super informative whitepaper to help providers adapt and respond to potential emergencies.
Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to developing guidance for the planning, design, and construction of hospitals, outpatient facilities, and residential health, care, and support facilities.
The organization oversees the FGI Guidelines for Design and Construction revision process and publication, fund research, and offer resources that support the development of safe, effective health and residential care built environments. FGI partners with numerous other organizations to help develop the Guidelines and other practical, evidence-informed publications.
To support the development of solutions for these industries, Pope Architects’ Jill Schroeder served as Vice Chair for the Residential Health team of FGI to assist in researching and producing an extensive and critically important whitepaper: “Guidance for Designing Health and Residential Care Facilities that Respond and Adapt to Emergency Conditions.”
