For Amy Maldonado, design and problem-solving is in her DNA. From helping her dad navigate home remodeling projects to spending hours designing her dream house for a childhood school assignment, her professional aspirations were shaped early on in life.
While in college, Amy watched as her grandparents transitioned from their homes of 70+ years to more supportive environments; bearing witness to the physical struggles and financial limitations they faced in the process. Through this experience, she decided that there must be something more that the profession could contribute to the design of senior communities. Through her role as Senior Housing Team Manager and Associate for Pope, Amy works collaboratively with clients to create thoughtfully designed communities that consider all the challenges a resident may face – affordability, cognitive limitations, accessibility, and aging in place.
Outside of the office, Amy is all about her family; be it quality time together or cheering her kids on from the ‘sidelines’. She also enjoys photography, yoga, traveling, cycling, and the variety of seasons and attractions that Minnesota has to offer.
Amy is a registered Architect in Arizona, and is licensed through the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Accreditation.
